Signs of Summer

I was driving past Highland Park Wednesday and saw two things that made me smile. The first was several gentlemen dressed in Renaissance gear practicing their swordsmanship (now, I'm not sure if this is a word or not, but it is going to have to do) - that was unexpected! The second was about 50 cyclists racing along Lake Drive, traveling in the direction towards me. I swear I could almost feel the wind from them speeding by, even though they were in the park! But I was almost giddy to see these sights because it was a lovely day, the sun was out, I was going to meet a friend, and I was genuinely happy to see signs of summer in this lovely city I call home!
